अयसाव मलं समुट्ठितं [समुट्ठाय ], ततुट्ठाय [तदुट्ठाय ] तमेव खादति।
एवं अतिधोनचारिनं, सानि कम्मानि [सककम्मानि ] नयन्ति दुग्गतिं॥
Just as rust
— iron's impurity —
eats the very iron
from which it is born,
so the deeds
of one who lives slovenly
lead him on
to a bad destination.
