अत्तना अकतं पापं, अत्तनाव विसुज्झति।
सुद्धी असुद्धि पच्चत्तं, नाञ्ञो अञ्ञं [नाञ्ञमञ्ञो(सी॰)] विसोधये॥
Evil is done by oneself
by oneself is one defiled.
Evil is left undone by oneself
by oneself is one cleansed.
Purity & impurity are one's own doing.
No one purifies another.
No other purifies one.
